Washing and drying textiles

To keep your print or embroidery looking good for as long as possible, follow the care instructions on the inner label (bottom left) and the guidelines below.

Washing

• Turn the garment inside out before washing — this protects the printed or embroidered surface from friction.
• Wash at 30°C, using a mild detergent.
• Avoid bleach and fabric softener directly on the printed area — they can accelerate fading and cracking.
• Wash similar colors together to avoid dye transfer, especially on light garments.

Drying

• Avoid tumble drying with hot air — heat is the main cause of prints cracking or fading over time.
• Air-drying, or a low-heat setting if you must use a dryer, is safest for both the print and the fabric.

Ironing

• Never iron directly over the printed or embroidered area.
• If you need to iron the garment, turn it inside out first, or iron around the design from the outside.

Decoration-specific notes

• DTG prints: it's normal for a new DTG print to have a faint vinegar-like smell right after production — see "Why does my T-shirt smell like vinegar?" It fades after the first wash or airing out.
• DTF prints: durable and flexible, but still benefit from inside-out, cold-to-warm washing to avoid unnecessary wear.
• Embroidery: check for loose threads before the first wash, and avoid washing with zippers or velcro that can snag the stitching.

Following these steps helps the print or embroidery keep its color and texture wash after wash.
